So to speak anyway, I’ve not written anything here for a few weeks because… well… I’ve not played anything. My PlayStation hasn’t been powered on. This was essentially because of my son being born and wife having bad labour pains up until that point. Not that I really need to justify it.
But the Christmas period has been crazy, getting into a whole new routine. In fact today was the first day I’d powered the PS4 on, while my wife had some friends around. I took myself away for an hour before powering down again to migrate the console back to the living room for me to use while I wait to give the evening feed.
It felt good. I did kind of miss it. Not any particular game, but being on the console and working on puzzles and challenges. I loaded up Skyrim, worked on a couple of miscellaneous quests and decided I needed to start something new. This could be a bad omen for Skyrim of my history is anything to go by, but I’m hoping I don’t let it. Instead I booted up Batman: Arkham Asylum. I got the bundle at the same time as Skyrim and held off starting. Now felt like the right time.
I’ll flit between the two, I think. I haven’t gone all out for the trophy whore on Batman straight out the gate (I played on medium at the minute, rather than hard) so I’ll likely replay, if only quickly, at some point anyway.
I know a few friends that decided to restart Skyrim as well, so I’ll want to try and live through it with them too.
